Canada Goose Season Opens September 1 - Aug. 14, 2008
West Virginia’s 2008-09 waterfowl seasons will begin statewide on September 1, 2008, with the opening of the early Canada goose season, according to Curtis I. Taylor, Chief of the Division of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Section. The early season will end on September 20. Shooting hours are 1/2 hour before sunrise until sunset.
Applications Accepted for McClintic WMA Duck Blinds Through September 5 - Aug. 14, 2008
Waterfowl hunters who wish to hunt from a blind in the controlled waterfowl hunting zone of McClintic Wildlife Management Area (WMA), located near Point Pleasant, must submit their applications by September 5, 2008, according to David McClung, Wildlife Manager for the Division of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Section.
DFG Offers September Waterfowl Hunting Clinics - Aug. 12, 2008
With waterfowl season just around the corner, the Department of Fish and Game’s (DFG) Advanced Hunter Education Program is hosting two waterfowl hunting clinics in September. The first clinic is in Williams in Colusa County on Sept. 20 with a second clinic Sept. 27 at the San Jacinto Wildlife Area in Riverside County.

More than 300 permits are available to hunters wishing to hunt ducks and geese from a blind at an Ohio State Park this waterfowl hunting season. A lottery drawing for the permits will be held at 17 state parks the morning of Saturday, August 16.
